Description

Born in Hegre, North Trondelag, Mona immigrated 1880. He attended Red Wing Seminary 1897-1905, and served churches in Mt. Vernon, S.D.; Grand Forks, N.D.; Toronto, S.D.; Newman Grove, Nebraska; and Chicago. He held various positions with the China Mission Board and the Hauge Indremissionsforbund.

  • Autobiography certificate of midwifery, Illinois and Minnesota (1903-1905) for Helga Aarrestad, and marriage license for her and Mona (1905)
  • Legal document, trustees of the Shell Creek Evangelical Lutheran congregation, Newman Grove, Neb. 
    • According to the centennial history of the Shell Rock church (1974), the lawsuit resulted from a split in the church following the 1917 merger. The majority favored joining the Lutheran Free Church, while the minority wanted to join the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church. The majority won the case, and Mona resigned.
