Collection of images, correspondence, newsletters, and documents relating to Martin and Mathilda Teigen and their children. Also includes "Historical Highlights of Bottineau County."

Mathilda Wollan Teigan (1878-1957), born in Pope County, Minnesota was the sixth child of Andrias and Iverine Wollan who migrated to the US in 1860 and 1867. She grew up in Pope County, studied music in Minneapolis and then moved to Bottineau County, North Dakota where she homesteaded, taught music, and played the church organ. She married Martin Teigen in 1905. 

Martin Olsen Teigen (1872-1953) was born in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. His parents, Ole Larson Teigen and Birtta Brekke Teigen, migrated in 1868. He grew up in Jackson County, attended Luther Academy in Decorah, Iowa, the University of Minnesota, and Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Ordained a Lutheran pastor in 1900, he served several North Dakota congregations until 1913, when he retired from the Ministry and became a farmer.
