Description
Beskrivelse av vor reise fra Norge til Amerika, aar 1857 is a description of Buu's journey to America together with his wife and five children, beginning at Bergen and ending at Liberty Prairie, Wisconsin. Manuscript copy was made by Iver J. Jaastad in 1888.
Buu emigrated from the Ytre Bu farm (no. 129, Kinsarvik, Hordaland) with his wife Inga Larsdtr. Laegreid (1806-) and children Gulleik (1837-77), lived Hegg, Wisconsin, served in the Civil War; Lars (1840-); Angunna (1842-); Sigrid (1844-); and Synneva (1846-).
