Description

A 12-page typescript copy of an article by a Norwegian clergyman that was published in "Morgenbladet" (October 10, 1839). It includes the Hans Barlien letter which announced the death of the author's emigrant son, Ole Rynning, and offers criticism of the emigration movement. Includes an offprint of Jacob S. Worm-Muller's address on Ole Rynning (July 4, 1937).

Includes: An article by H.R.M. on Barlien is included (no source given, pp. 15-16); manuscript (1 folded sheet) with typed transcription with heading "On the death of Anna Nicoline Lund: a manuscript found among the Rynning papers." 5p.; manuscript (16 p.) of poems, with typed transcription with heading "A manuscript book of verse found among the Rynning papers 14 p. (Only one is ascribed to an author, J. St. Munch); and a letter from L. W. Boe to Theodore C. Blegen (Jan. 27, 1930) and Blegen's response (Jan. 30) concerning gift of Rynning's library to St. Olaf College.
